RESEARCH TECHNICIANS (2 POSITIONS)
IITA, with Headquarters at Ibadan, is an International AgriculturalResearch Centre in the Consultative Group on InternationalAgricultural Research (CGIAR), which is an association of about 50countries, international and regional organizations, and privatefoundations. IITA seeks to increase agricultural production in asustainable way in order to improve the nutritional status andwell-being of people in tropical Sub-Saharan Africa.
The International Institute of Tropical Agriculture seeks suitable candidates for the following positions at the Institute’s Kano Station.
POSITIONRESEARCH TECHNICIANS (2 POSITIONS) 2year renewable contract
DUTIES:
Successful candidate will be responsible for:
Clean and sort planting materials for laboratory, screen-house and field trials;
Collect data in laboratory, screen-house and field trials;
Participate in arranging training for farmers;
Assist in carrying out maintenance activities in the laboratory andscreen-houses;
Supervise workers’ activities in the screen-house and field trials and
Perform any other assigned jobs by the Supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
National Diploma in General Agriculture. At least three (3) years relevant working experience in research institutes or universities.
Successful candidate must be honest and able to work under pressure,computer literacy and in possession of valid drivers’ licence.
