THE BIBLE SOCIETY OF NIGERIA
The Bible Society of Nigeria is a member of a global fellowship of non-denominational Christian organization whose primary mission involves translation of Holy Scriptures into languages people can easily read and understand as well as production and distribution of same at affordable prices. She also raises funds for these activities. Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the vacant positions stated below at our Office and Guest House in Abuja.

OPERATIONS MANAGER:
The position reports to the General Secretary/CEO. The job holder us responsible for the general operations of staff at the location and serves as image marker for the society. she/he promotes support for BSN activities, recommends and follows up on execution of strategies for improved patronage, guests satisfaction customers retention in line with policy.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinating all resources for smooth operations, ensuring that facilities and properties are kept in good condition, ensuring that records on income and cost are effectively managed, increasing the membership base of the society, servicing members and donors, raising funds to meet organisation’s objectives, writing reports and offering professional advice to the management on operations

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of HND/BSC in the social science/arts/humanities with at least 5 years relevant experience preferably in similar position. Possession of post graduate qualification in management will be an added advantage. Ability to sell intangible products, competence for exceptional customer service delivery, go-getting, computer literacy, ability to work under pressure without supervision, excellent organizational, reporting and assertiveness skills are necessary

GUEST HOUSE SUPERVISOR:
The position reports to the Operations Manager. The job holder coordinates the front desk and housekeeping activities

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Preparing periodical reports on room facility, conducting routine check on the properly, ensuring guests’ complaints are promptly attended to and supervising the activities of duty staff at the Guest House

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of OND in Catering and Hotel Management or Business Administration with at least 3 years relevant experience preferably in similar position, ability to work without supervision, supervisory, organizational, and assertiveness skills

GUEST SERVICE AGENT:
The job holder who reports to the Guest House Supervisor manages reservations, attends to inquires and complaints and ts responsible for the checking in and out of guest

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Building a positive corporate image, attending to inquiries, taking reservations, ensuring guests privacy, ensuring guest complaints are promptly and adequately addressed

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Minimum of diploma certificate with at least 3 years work experience in front office operation and capacity to deal with wide a range of people

GUEST ROOM ATTENDANT:
The job holder is responsible for the cleanliness of allocated areas and ensures the functionality of facilities therein

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting any fault or damage in the allocated portions and ensuring guests’ complaints are attended to promptly

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Secondary school certificate with at least 4 credit passes as at least 2 years work experience in housekeeping functions

PORTER:
The job holder reports to the Guest Services Agent in checking in and out of guest

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting in carrying guests luggage into and out of the rooms, guiding guests to their respective rooms and ensuring they are comfortable

PERSONAL SPECIFICATIONS:
Secondary school certificate with at least 4 credit passes, physical energy and additional skill relevant to Guest House operations

CLEANER/GARDENERS:
ame as in Guest Room Attendant, experience in gardening will however be an added advantage

MAINTENANCE SUPERVISOR:
The position reports to the Guest House Supervisor. The job holder is responsible for the overall maintenance of properties

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensuring proper and prompt maintenance of power generating sets, air conditioning units and other equipment, conducting routine checks on all facilities and present periodical report on same, carrying out repairs and advising on all technical matters relating to maintenance

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:
OND in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, minimum of 5 years work experience, knowledge of plumbing, air conditioning and other relevant skills will be an added advantage

ASSISTANT TECHNICIANS:
The position to the Maintenance Supervisor and assist in general maintenance

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assisting in over all maintenance of facilities

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATIONS:
NABTEB/Trade Test certificate pr its equivalent plus minimum of 2 years work experience in general maintenance

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT:
The job holder is responsible for the laundry of the guest house linen

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Secondary school certificate with at least 4 credits, excellent in ironing and garment care, previous experience in hand/machine washing

CASHIER/ACCOUNT CLERK:
The job holder is responsible for the collection, disbursement and banking of funds in lin with laid down procedures. s/he prepares the statements of accounts periodically

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:
Collecting cash and cash equivalent and lodging same to bank, keeping proper records of proceeds and preparing statements of accounts

PERSONNEL SPECIFICATION:
OND in Financial Accounting with minimum of 2 years work experience, numerical and assertiveness skills

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants for the above –stated position must be practicing /committed Christians with good testimonies of turning point and willing to learn. Communication, customer and interpersonal relations skills is a must for all the position. Interested persons must also be prepared to work flexible hours
